Specification description mismatch on mutalk2 website

2024-09-02
Notes

We have discovered, through customer feedback, that the current version of the "mutalk 2" does not fully match the specifications stated on the website (https://en.shiftall.net/products/mutalk2). Specifically, this issue is related to the maximum audio bit depth in both wired (USB) connections and when using the dedicated communication dongle.

Specifications on the Website:

Audio sampling rate
Wired or dedicated communication dongle:

Audio input (mic): max. 48KHz, 24bit

Current Firmware:

Audio sampling rate
Wired or dedicated communication dongle:

Audio input (mic): max. 48KHz, 16bit

Future Actions:

We have prepared firmware that supports the specification “Maximum 48KHz, 24bit microphone input”, and we are going to release it in September 2024. The information of how to update it will be provided on our Web and SNS(X, Discord, Facebook).
Additionally, we will update the relevant specifications on the website to indicate that customers need to update to use 48KHz, 24bit mode.

Reason for the issue:

We have to explain the reason that led to this issue. During the initial development of mutalk 2, we were aiming to support 48KHz, 24bit audio. However, we decided to limit the bit depth to 48KHz, 16bit at the time of release, finally. Unfortunately, during the review process for the product website, the initial specifications were mistakenly published instead of the final ones. We will strengthen our document management processes to prevent a recurrence of such issues.

We sincerely apologize for the significant concern and inconvenience this has caused to our customers who purchased the mutalk 2.
