Shiftall Inc. is pleased to announce the launch of pre-orders for “AddCon+”, an attachment-type controller expansion that mounts onto the left and right controllers of Meta Quest 3 / 3S / Pro.

AddCon+ enables tracking of all fingers including the thumb, and adds one wheel and seven additional buttons. Shipments are scheduled to begin in March 2026.

Finger tracking functionality has been confirmed to work with VRChat, allowing each finger of the avatar’s hand to be moved individually, from a fully clenched position to a fully extended position, with near-continuous motion.*

With Meta Quest controllers alone, users can only switch between multiple preset hand signs. By using AddCon+, however, it becomes possible to perform gestures such as pinching using only the thumb, index finger, and little finger, or raising and lowering only the little finger freely and intuitively.

The expanded buttons can be assigned using SteamVR’s binding functionality. In addition, by registering OSC messages via a dedicated application, AddCon+ can also transmit OSC messages. For example, users can assign VRChat’s camera zoom function to the wheel, or take a photo by pressing a button even when not holding the in-game camera in VRChat. It also allows users to easily control avatar gimmicks that use OSC.

Finger tracking functionality is supported on the PC version only.

However, support for OSC message using the expanded buttons and wheel via a smartphone application is also planned.

AddCon+ can be attached to Meta Quest 3/3S/Pro controllers without the use of screws or adhesive tape, allowing for easy attachment and removal. The built-in battery provides approximately 130 hours of operation and can be charged via USB Type-C.

At CES 2025, Shiftall announced “AddCon”, a device that added expanded buttons to the left-hand controller, and development continued toward a planned release in the summer of 2025. Subsequently, as development progressed, the product direction was re-evaluated. As a result, Shiftall decided to support expanded button functionality on both controllers, add finger tracking functionality, and release this new model as “AddCon+”.

*Finger tracking functionality operates by measuring the distance from the sensor and supports only opening and closing motions along a single axis. Movements such as scissor-like motions performed while forming a peace sign are not supported. In addition, individual finger joint movements are not captured. The term “near-continuous” refers to a perceptual description; in practice, finger position data is digitally processed within the proximity sensors before being transmitted to VR applications.
