Shiftall Inc. announces the new FBT (full-body motion tracking) device without a base station, "HaritoraX 2," priced at just $299. By wearing both the VR headset and this device, users can track their full-body motion in avatars within VR applications like VRChat. The IMU method’s positional drift has been greatly reduced*1, and depending on play-space magnetic environment, recalibration may not be necessary even over an hour of use.

With the new sensor and new software, no drifting.

The HaritoraX 2 features new sensors that retain the key advantage of IMU-based systems—no "tracking lost*2"—while significantly reducing their main weakness: "rotation drift*3." The defining feature of HaritoraX 2 is its unparalleled stability, achieved by tuneing each device's accelerometer and gyroscope before shipment, ensuring reliable performance even in environments where geomagnetic sensors are entirely non-functional.

In environments where geomagnetic sensors are works well, the HaritoraX 2 delivers an exceptional full-body tracking experience with almost no drift, even after more than an hour of use*4. The newly introduced ultra-fast response geomagnetic sensor and our original calibration technology (available in the Shiftall VR Manager app) enable rapid correction of drift, even in environments with unstable magnetic fields, by detecting brief moments of improved magnetic conditions.

Ultra long battery life

HaritoraX 2 offers an ultra-long battery duration of over 50 hours*5. With typical use of about 3 hours every two days, users won’t need to charge the battery for over a month.
This ultra-low power design has led to the creation of the new LEG sensor, which integrates the upper and lower knee sensors for a more comfortable fit and reduces the number of USB cable insertions, simplifying the charging process.

LiDAR sensor integration enables realistic ankle flexion

The LiDAR sensor in the lower leg sensor reflects ankle movement on the avatar without an additional foot sensor. It can also detect the foot's position relative to the floor and ankle movement in multiple directions. Currently, it only tracks upward and downward ankle motion, with a future update planned to support 3D ankle movement and foot-floor positioning.

Advanced Tracking with Expansion Sensors,
Compatible with Previous Models

By attaching the separately sold "HaritoraX 2 Elbow Tracking Expansion Set" to both upper arms, you can capture elbow motions with greater precision.
The HaritoraX series users can combine their existing "HaritoraX Wireless Elbow Tracking Expansion Set" with the HaritoraX 2, or use the"HaritoraX 2 Elbow Tracking Expansion Set" with the HaritoraX 1.1B*6.

*1 Compared to the HaritoraX series.
*2 In Optical-based trackers, obstructions can prevent tracking, causing avatars to adopt unnatural poses. This phenomenon is referred to as "tracking lost."
*3 IMU-based trackers can develop positional discrepancies over time, particularly along the yaw axis, causing avatar misalignment. This issue is known as "rotation drift."
*4 Needs to be in good geomagnetic field condition about once every 10 minutes. Sometimes slightly to movement of the body is required for that.
*5 When LiDAR sensor is OFF.
