Shiftall Inc. announces the HaritoraX 2 Add-on "R", an expansion kit designed to enhance the performance of the HaritoraX 2. This add-on attaches to the HaritoraX 2 and enables optical tracking functionality when used with the included dedicated camera. While the HaritoraX 2's IMU-based system estimates posture based on joint rotation angles, the Add-on "R" introduces absolute positioning, eliminating the need for recalibration and minimizing discrepancies between user posture and avatar posture.
The standard HaritoraX 2 set includes six sensors attached to the torso and legs, allowing it to estimate posture accurately even without optical assistance. Unlike other company products that use only 2–3 sensors for the torso and legs, the HaritoraX 2 maintains posture stability even if optical tracking is interrupted, preventing "tracking lost" issues.
It's allows users to combine the advantages of IMU-based tracking and optical tracking for a total cost of Approx. $550. The camera can multiply connect to PC so it can reduce blind spots and minimize tracking lost.
The decision to make this product an optional accessory rather than a dedicated device reflects the company's philosophy: users can start with the HaritoraX 2 for full-body tracking and later purchase the Add-on "R" if they wish to benefit from optical tracking.
We have discontinued the HaritoraX Wireless R, which was unveiled at CES 2024, and will focus on the HaritoraX 2 Add-on "R".
