Shiftall Inc. previously announced HaritoraX 2 Add-on R, an expansion kit designed to enhance the performance of HaritoraX 2 and HaritoraX 2 Pro, as a prototype in 2025. During the following year of development, the product direction was significantly re-evaluated, resulting in a postponement of the release. Now that the product is approaching launch readiness, Shiftall is pleased to reannounce the price, release timing, and tracking method.
HaritoraX 2 uses an IMU for tracking. The IMU tracking has the advantage of not being affected by sensor occlusion and being able to track in any posture. However, with prolonged use, IMU-based tracking may experience a phenomenon commonly referred to as “drift” or “twist,” in which an avatar’s feet or torso gradually rotate along the yaw axis, even though the user remains standing upright in the real world. This can occur in certain environments, such as those where geomagnetic sensors do not function properly. HaritoraX 2 Add-on R automatically corrects drift using a camera, transforming HaritoraX 2 / HaritoraX 2 Pro into a drift-free tracker, even during long sessions.

The HaritoraX 2 Add-on R includes infrared-reflective attachment plates and an infrared camera. The attachment plates are mounted onto each HaritoraX 2 / HaritoraX 2 pro sensors. When the camera detects the attachment plates, the system calculates the accumulated drift and automatically corrects it using the dedicated software, “Shiftall VR Manager”. By simply installing the camera and attaching the plates, users can continue using HaritoraX 2 just as before. The control software remains unchanged, and Shiftall VR Manager can be used without any modification. Because the advantages of IMU-based tracking are fully preserved, the system does not exhibit any unnatural movement even when the camera temporarily loses sight of the attachment plates. While drift correction is not performed during periods when the plates are not visible, HaritoraX 2 continues to operate as a conventional IMU-based system. As soon as the camera detects the plates again—even momentarily—any accumulated drift is automatically corrected. This design places a strong emphasis on everyday stability, ensuring natural behavior without unusual movement even during optical tracking loss.
The attachment plates are made of just plastic and a reflector without batteries. As a result, they are extremely lightweight and do not compromise the original lightness of HaritoraX 2, which weighs approximately 17 grams (0.6 oz) per tracking point. In addition, the absence of batteries preserves HaritoraX 2’s long operating time of approximately 80 hours. The reflective plate approach also contributes to overall cost reduction. As a result, Shiftall has achieved a significantly lower price than originally announced in 2025, offering a package that includes one camera and six attachment plates for $149. When combined with HaritoraX 2 ($299), users can achieve a stable, drift-free six-point full-body tracking system for a total of $448.
A live demo of HaritoraX 2 Add-on R will also be exhibited at CES 2026, one of the world’s largest technology events, held in Las Vegas, USA, from January 6 to 9, 2026 (PST).
