Unparalleled Comfort from Extreme Lightness

Despite featuring micro OLED panels with world-class resolution, we've achieved a remarkable lightness of 179 g (6.3 oz) through meticulous weight reduction—paying attention to component thickness down to 0.1mm, and a thorough lightweight design.
Our "near-zero facial pressure" design makes this extraordinary lightness possible, which supports the weight solely through a thin, flexible head strap and the forehead area. Facial pressure refers to the force exerted on the corners of the eyes and cheeks by typical VR headsets*. Many users have likely experienced marks around their face, pain, or redness in the eye corners and cheeks after wearing a VR headset for extended periods. The MeganeX superlight 8K's light shade lives up to its name with a fluffy, soft design that merely blocks light. Almost no pressure even when it touches your face.

*Note: This is our company's terminology and definition.

Emotionally Impactful VR Rendered in HDR 8K

The MeganeX 8K Mark II, with its 90Hz refresh rate and 4K resolution per eye (3552 x 3840 pixels), boasts one of the highest pixel counts compared to existing heavyweight headsets. Moreover, it enables VR experiences with rich 10-bit HDR color expression when used with compatible applications running on SteamVR™.
Translating the 4K resolution per eye (3552 x 3840 pixels) into pixel count yields 27.27 million pixels. As of October 2025, this ranks among the highest pixel counts in consumer VR headsets.
By adopting OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) technology, where each element is self-illuminating, the MeganeX 8K Mark II achieves a level of dark scene representation that is dramatically superior to LCD (Liquid Crystal Display), which uses backlighting. Dark scenes viewed through the MeganeX superlight 8K are not just black, they're indeed 'jet black'. This black expression delivers high-contrast, clear, and crisp imagery that will truly immerse you in your VR experience.

Three Mounting Styles to Suit Every Use Case

The MeganeX 8K Mark II offers three selectable wearing styles, allowing users to choose the ideal setup for their usage environment and personal preference. While maintaining its lightweight design, each option pursues greater stability and comfort during extended use.

Soft Strap (included)

Equipped with a convenient flip-up mechanism, the headset can be quickly lifted and secured above the forehead with one hand. This feature enables use cases that are difficult to achieve with camera-based passthrough. It’s ideal for creators who frequently move between Blender, Unity, and VR spaces, as well as for users who want to browse photos taken in VR, share them on Discord, or check X on their smartphone without frustration.

Face Mount Kit (optional)

Like conventional VR headsets, this setup supports the device with three contact points — the face, the back of the head, and the top band. Compared to the forehead-strap style, it provides a more secure hold on the headset, maintaining stable wear even during intense movement. It is also slightly lighter than the forehead-strap configuration.

Hard Strap (optional)

This optional strap supports the headset at the forehead, back of the head, and top of the head. Its plastic band and rear dial adjustment system allow for quick attachment and removal while providing a stable, secure fit. It also features a convenient flip-up mechanism.

IPD Adjustment and Diopter Adjustment

This ultra-compact, super-lightweight body incorporates a 58mm-72mm motorized interpupillary distance (IPD) adjustment. It is easily adjustable while viewing VR via a controller or PC app. The PC app supports one-click IPD adjustment by numerical input, eliminating tediously repeated button presses when sharing among multiple users in business settings or families. Additionally, it supports diopter adjustment with a diopter range of 0D to -7D, allowing precise, sharp visual experiences for most users with up to 20/100 myopia without additional lenses.
The focus adjustment dial is on the outer casing for fine-tuning while viewing VR content. For those with hyperopia, astigmatism, or myopia beyond 20/10, please use the MeganeX superlight 8K-specific add-on prescription lens sold separately. These add-on prescription lenses attach magnetically for easy installation when shared among multiple users.

Support for a Wide Range of Vision Types with Optional Prescription Lenses

While the MeganeX superlight 8K offers diopter adjustment from 0 to -7D, users with farsightedness or astigmatism may still experience difficulty seeing clear images. By ordering custom prescription lenses from VR Optician, you can enjoy sharp, high-quality visuals with perfectly adjusted focus.

Adjustment Mechanism Accommodates Various Face Shapes

Correct positioning of lens positioning eyes is crucial for VR headsets using pancake lenses. Our unique adjustment mechanism allows for customization of the forehead pad angle and the distance between the lenses and the face, fitting various facial structures and accommodating differences in forehead angles and eye depth.

Customize with a USB Type-C Expansion Port featuring Increased Power Output

The bottom of the unit provides a USB Type-C expansion port.
While the MeganeX 8K Mark II features high-performance built-in dual microphones, it intentionally omits speakers, recognizing that audio preferences vary among users.
This expansion port allows you to connect your preferred audio devices, such as USB earphones or headphones.
The port connects directly to the PC via USB 2.0, and its available power output has been increased to 5V / 2.1A compared to the previous model.
When using USB-connected earphones with a microphone, both the earphones and microphone functions are supported. It can also be used to connect facial tracking or hand tracking devices.

* The microphone source can be switched within PC applications such as VRChat.

Ideal for Enterprise Use with Optional Maintenance Service

With its lightweight yet high-definition design, the MeganeX 8K Mark II is also ideal for research and industrial applications. The motorized IPD adjustment mechanism and glasses-free diopter adjustment allow multiple users within the same department to share the device without stress. Furthermore, the 10-bit HDR-compatible* micro OLED displays offer exceptional color accuracy, meeting the demands of professional designers who require true-to-life color reproduction.

By offering three interchangeable wearing styles, the headset provides outstanding flexibility for professional applications such as design reviews and training, where lifelike visual precision is essential. A dedicated maintenance service plan is also available for corporate customers.

*10-bit HDR display supported with Autodesk VRED.

The MeganeX 8K Mark II can be equipped with ART’s clip-on target, allowing seamless integration with Advanced Realtime Tracking (ART) optical outside-in motion tracking systems. This enables precise, professional tracking across large-scale environments and supports use in moving simulators or vehicles.
In addition to the included 3 m USB-C cable, optional 5 m and 10 m USB-C cables are also available, supporting enterprise use in large VR spaces.A 3D hand-tracking device, the Hand Tracker, is also available. It incorporates Ultraleap’s SIR170, enabling precise finger tracking within 75 cm and offering an ultra-wide 170° x 170° field of view.
The Hand Tracker can be attached to the bottom of the MeganeX superlight 8K or MeganeX 8K Mark II.

SteamVR™ Tracking Compatible

SteamVR™ tracking method uses Steam base stations 1.0/2.0, enabling high-precision head tracking that is less affected by the environment, e.g., darkness. It is compatible with your existing GripVR, FlipVR, Valve Index, or VIVE controllers. A dedicated X2 dongle (USB connection) for connecting two controllers is also included.

*Controllers are not included.

Handheld Pole Adapter for Quick VR Experience

We recognize the frequent need for quick VR space checks without controllers for personal and business use, so we've included a handheld pole adapter.
This adapter, attachable to the bottom of the unit, features a 1/4-20 UNC female thread used in camera tripods. A camera monopod allows quick VR experiences, like looking through a magnifying glass: Multiple-person 3D space checks or 3D content experiences at exhibitions.

Improved Durability and Stability

The most significant external change in the MeganeX 8K Mark II is the redesigned USB cable connection. The port, which was previously located on the top of the headset, has been moved to the front and structurally reinforced for improved durability. In addition, a specially developed intermediate USB cable enhances connection stability and prevents issues caused by wear or accidental disconnection.
To ensure comfortable wear for users with higher nose bridges, a facial feature often seen among Western users, the MeganeX 8K Mark II has been improved so that sharp plastic edges do not come into contact with the nose. The material and shape around the nose area have been improved for greater comfort. In addition, a new strap material has been adopted, and the durability of the hook-and-loop fastener has been enhanced.

Faster Startup and Improved Stability with New Chip and New OS

The CPU and operating system (OS) have been upgraded, and the firmware has been newly developed, reducing the startup time to less than one-fifth of the previous model.
In addition, connection stability with PCs and SteamVR™ has been improved, and the firmware update process has been improved for greater reliability.

Diopter-Zero Setting

For users with good eyesight or those using add-on prescription lenses, the focus adjustment dial now includes a diopter-zero mark, allowing the focus adjustment function to be easily disabled.
